Mbondaa Foundation is dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for children and youth from disadvantaged and rural communities. We aim to reduce financial and structural barriers that prevent many young people from completing their educational goals and support them in career development.
Mbondaa is a Mende word, meaning “family”, a word that reflects community, care, and belonging. We believe every child deserves the support needed to learn, grow, and contribute to a stronger future. Together, we are building pathways of compassion, opportunity, and shared hope for children and families in Sierra Leone.
Mbondaa foundation is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, with a mission of providing services to children and youth from disadvantaged and rural communities and for any other purposes permitted for nonprofit organizations under applicable law.
